About The Role

Part time, term-time only. To start 1st September 2026

Pro-Rated Salary: £9,838.92pa (£26,871pa FTE)

Clifton High School is seeking a friendly, professional, and highly organised School Receptionist to join our welcoming School community. This is a pivotal role as the first point of contact for visitors, parents, and callers, making a positive and lasting first impression on behalf of the School.

As the School Receptionist, you will provide a warm and efficient front-of-house service while supporting the wider School Office with a range of administrative duties. You will play a key role in ensuring the smooth day-to-day operation of reception and office functions.

This is a term time only role from 2:45pm to 6:15pm. The role is 17.5 hours per week Monday to Friday.

The Afternoon School Receptionist will also be expected to work until approx. 7.15pm on 12 occasions (approx.) per year to support parent evenings. Payment for these hours will be made following submission of an Additional Hours Claim Form.

Candidates should have excellent communication and administration skills, with strong attention to detail and proficiency in Microsoft Office. They will be highly organised, proactive, and able to manage competing priorities, working both independently and as part of a team.

Applicants should have at least one year’s experience in a busy office and a customer-facing role. Experience in a school environment, knowledge of systems such as SIMS, and an understanding of safeguarding and GDPR would be advantageous.

The role requires a calm, professional, and resilient individual who can maintain confidentiality, work under pressure, and build positive relationships across the School.
