We are seeking to appoint a qualified and enthusiastic Teacher of History (1 Year Fixed Term Contract – 0.5 to 0.6 FTE) to join a friendly, thriving department teaching pupils who achieve excellent results at GCSE and A level. Typically, pupils leave the School in Year 13 for Russell Group universities, with a number of pupils making Oxbridge applications and apprenticeship applications each year.
The successful candidate will be a dynamic and experienced History teacher: knowledgeable, inspiring, articulate and supportive. They will have vision and drive, with the ability and determination to maintain the very high educational standards for which the Department is already known. Excellent communication skills are essential for this role – imparting their own passion for the subject to pupils, as well as working collaboratively with the Department, wider staff body and liaising with parents.
Clifton High School is a busy and thriving community in which the wider contributions of staff to co-curricular activities are highly valued. The ability to lead clubs and activities is vital, as is the participation in the pastoral support system of the School.
Completed application forms should include a suitability statement to illustrate how the requirements of the post will be met.
The salary for this role will be Teachers’ Main or Enhanced Pay Scale, depending on experience.
